Understanding Blackboard Student Tools

Go to your Blackboard course.

Click on the Tools button.

This area offers many useful tools for your online experience.

You can share information with your fellow students by posting in the Homepage section.

Editing your Homepage is simple. Simply scroll down the page and insert relevant information. You may post a digital photograph of yourself as well. The photo must be either in a GIF or JEG format. You may post a list of your favorite web sites as well.

Please Note: Berkeley College recommends that you limit how much personal information you post on this page. Use the Intro Message area to post a brief introduction about yourself.
When you have completed updating your Homepage, click on the Submit button.

The Glossary area is where you access a Glossary that your instructor may have posted. To access a word, just click on the letter in the Letter Bar.

You can view assignments and events posted by your professor by using the Calendar.

The Address Book allows you to formulate your own electronic address book.

The View Grades section allows you to view your grades and keep track of them from week to week. Simply click on View Grades to access your online.

Tasks allows you to add the tasks that you need to perform during the quarter.

The Electronic Board allows you to take course notes.
