System Requirements

In order to access Blackboard, or to take an online course, you will need to meet the following minimum computer requirements:

PC System Requirements

	•	500 MHz Intel Pentium II processor or higher
	•	2 GB of free disk space or higher
	•	512 Megabytes of RAM or higher
	•	CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
	•	Keyboard and Mouse
	•	Sound card with speakers or headphones
	•	Microphone
	•	Video adapter and monitor with1024x768 or higher resolution
	•	Modem with a speed of 56Kbps (or other high-speed connection)

MAC System Requirements

	•	32 or 64 bit new Intel Based iMAC, Mini Mac, MAC Pro, MacBook and MacBook Pro
	•	32 bit display adapter
	•	1 Gig of RAM (2Gigs Recommended)
	•	At least 2.0 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard drive
	•	CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
	•	Keyboard and Mouse
	•	Video adapter and monitor with1024x768 or higher resolution
	•	Sound card with speakers or headphones
	•	Microphone
	•	Modem with a speed of 56Kbps (or other high-speed connection)

Internet Access

	•	Access to the Internet via an Internet service provider of your choice (AOL, AT&T, Earthlink, etc.)
	•	Ability to log into your NetMail account for all student e-mail correspondence (http://mymail.berkeleycollege.edu)

Software

	•	Windows XP Home Edition and Professional Edition with Service Pack 2; MacOS X Parallels Version 3.0 (For Mac Users Only)
	•	Web browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or higher, Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher)
	•	Adobe Acrobat Reader software (download for free)
	•	Apple QuickTime (download for free)
	•	RealPlayer (download for free)
	•	Java Plug-in 1.5 or higher (download for free)
	•	A current anti-virus software
