There's no better place to experience the energy of the business world than in New York City. Established in 1936, the New York City campus of Berkeley College has more than 2,000 students enrolled in day, evening, weekend, and online courses.
Berkeley's two midtown buildings on 41st and 43rd Streets, between 5th and Madison, are in close proximity to Grand Central Station (providing easy access to subways, trains, and buses). And the College's Lower Manhattan Extension Center is located in the heart of New York's financial district, easily accessible by public transportation from the five boroughs.
When it comes to culture, New York City is beyond compare. Within easy reach of the College are museums, Broadway theaters, concerts, ballet, opera, libraries, churches, historic sites, and much more. Public transportation quickly brings students to Wall Street, Greenwich Village, Soho, Chinatown, Little Italy, Central Park, famous Fifth Avenue shops, the United Nations, amusement areas, and world-renowned landmarks. New York's diverse neighborhoods, fine restaurants, clubs, street festivals, and year-round special events add an extra dimension to the college experience. The diversity of the students who come to the New York City Campus from different backgrounds, nationalities, and lifestyles is as distinguished as the area.
The Facilities
When students step into the 43rd Street entrance of the impressive seven-story Main Building, they see that the first-floor administrative offices and the reception area still capture the charm of St. Christopher's Chapel, which previously occupied the space.
Elevator service provides access to all classrooms, and a doorman and security staff are available for assistance as needed. Both buildings feature contemporary classrooms with comfortable furnishings and climate-controlled conditions. The facilities are designed to accommodate the disabled.
The facilities feature state-of-the art computer labs and more than 200 classroom computers throughout the buildings, with the most current software programs available today. Students can also access the Internet.
The Library
Located on the seventh floor of the Main Building, the library offers computers for research and Internet access; study areas; a copy machine; and a collection of print, media, and periodical subscriptions supporting the academic programs of the College and the general interest of the students. Students may borrow a laptop from the library to access the College's wireless network. Academic librarians are available to assist in locating materials in the collection or navigating the array of electronic databases available.
The Academic Support Center
The Academic Support Center (ASC) offers a full array of academic support services to help students improve their academic performance and achieve their educational goals. The ASC offers a series of workshops to help strengthen study skills and time management. Tutoring is available online and on-site.
Residence
A variety of residence facilities is available in Manhattan and nearby boroughs. Rates vary according to location and accommodations. Additional information is available at the campus Admissions Office.
