BERKELEY COLLEGE KICKS INTO HIGH GEAR
FOR COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

to Deliver Keynote Address
Berkeley College will hold its 2006 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, April 28 at 9 a.m. at the Continental Airlines Arena, located at 50 Route 120 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In honor of the College’s 75th anniversary, students from the College’s three New Jersey campuses will join with students from the two New York City campuses to receive their degrees at this ceremony.
Mortimer B. Zuckerman will deliver the Commencement Address. He is the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of U.S. News & World Report, publisher of the New York Daily News, and founder and Chairman of Boston Properties Inc. Mr. Zuckerman is a graduate of McGill University, McGill Law School, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard Law School. In addition, he is a trustee of Memorial Sloan-Kettering, New York University, the Aspen Institute, the Hole in the Wall Gang Fund, Inc., and the Center for Communications. Mr. Zuckerman is a former Associate Professor of City & Regional Planning at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and a former lecturer of City and Regional Planning at Yale University.
For the first time in its 75-year-history, Berkeley will award honorary degrees at this year’s commencement. Recipients of the honorary degrees will be commencement speaker Mr. Zuckerman, and Mr. Larry Luing, Chairman Emeritus of Berkeley College.
Mr. Luing began his association with Berkeley College in 1965, became President in
1969, and Chairman of the Board in 1982 until his retirement in 2001. Under his leadership, the school became the first proprietary institution in New Jersey to be licensed as a college, and to be regionally accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Approximately 1,200 men and women have met the requirements to attain Bachelor or Associate degrees. Bachelor of Science degrees will be awarded in Business Administration, and Fashion Marketing & Management. Bachelor of Business Administration degrees will be awarded in Accounting, Marketing, Management, International Business, and General Business. Associate of Applied Science degrees will be awarded in Business Administration, Fashion Marketing & Management, Interior Design, International Business, Network Management, Paralegal Studies, and Web Design. The Associate in Science degree will be awarded in International Business.
Berkeley College is celebrating its 75th Anniversary (1931 2006) as a leader in business education.
