The Online Virtual Career Fair
is Here!

This quarter the "virtual" career fair will run through December 7. Once again this is a great opportunity for you to view jobs from more than 25 employers around the New York and New Jersey area. Many of our clients also have other locations around the country, so visit to check out opportunities in your area. Each quarter we feature a wide range of companies representing a variety of industries. From Management to Marketing, Government to Finance, they are all there for you to review. So please join us and check out the many opportunities they present. And since companies will be added and jobs will change during the two week fair, please visit as often as you like.

Here are some important things to remember when visiting the Career Fair:

  • You don't have to be in need of a job.
  • It's a networking opportunity.
  • You never know what will happen just by checking it out!

You can access the Career Fair by logging onto Blackboard and choosing Career Services under My Organizations and then choose the tab "Programs & Events."

Student Self-Service

Did you know you can:

  • Check your account balance?
  • View your grades at the end of each quarter?
  • Update your contact information?

These tools and more can be found right in Blackboard. Click on the tab marked Student Self-Service which opens another window into Oracle. Click on Self-Service to open the Student self-service menu. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us, or check the Student Self-Service brochure posted on Blackboard: click on the Community tab, select Advisement, click on College Information, click on Self-Service.

REMINDER... Required Computer Software Upgrade

Beginning January 2008, Berkeley College will upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 software. All Berkeley students must prepare for this upgrade and purchase the software for their home computers and labtops in order to take courses that require Microsoft software. MAC owners, click here for more information.

The Berkeley College Bookstore offers special academic pricing. For more information, visit your Blackboard home page and click on the Dell icon. Plan now to prepare for this important upgrade.

Online Book Club Selections for Winter 2008

We are pleased to announce the readings for the Winter Quarter: the NY Times Best Seller The Kite Runner, by Khalid Hosseini and a book of poetry, Shake Loose My Skin, by Sonia Sanchez. The first 10 people to post will receive a $20 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

Book discussions officially take place between Weeks 3 and 9, but you may join at any time.

How to join:

  • Go to the "Community" tab in Blackboard
  • Type "book club" in the search box
  • Click "Enroll" (access code: reading)

Now you can get reliable search scores of Internet-based publications in the LexisNexis Academic database. Internet-based publications are published only on the Internet and do not appear anywhere in hard copy. From the Library home page look for Electronic Resources > Databases A-Z and click on LexisNexis. Type the topic and select the category of resources you would like to search. Web publications include: Billboard, Breaking News, CNN.com, Gallop Poll, Health & Beauty, Market Watch, MSNBC, Sales & Marketing, Travel, TV, Washington Post, Workout Wire, and many more...
