Berkeley College
Legal Specialty Course Transfer Policy

The transcript evaluator determines if the course taken is from a regional accredited university or college, a "C" or better was achieved and it is a course that is offered as a legal specialty course. The course must also be from an approved ABA program.  The course syllabus is reviewed against the College's course syllabus and a determination is made whether the courses are similar enough for acceptance by the College. The following legal specialty courses must have reviewed New Jersey or New York law* to be transferred in for credit:  Torts, Litigation, Legal Research and Writing, Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Advanced Litigation, Real Estate Law, Family Law, Criminal Law and Procedures, and Wills, Trusts, and Estates.

A student may transfer in only three legal specialty courses.

*Students must have studied the appropriate state law for the campus in which they are transferring.
