Dear Colleagues,
As President of Berkeley College, it is my pleasure to introduce you to an institution whose main focus is student success.
This success is achieved through a strategic approach to career education that prepares our students for outstanding achievement in the "real world."
Berkeley College is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, offering a wide array of opportunities for full- and part-time study both online and at our eight locations throughout the New York metropolitan area and New Jersey.
In the School of Business, Berkeley College students take advantage of specialized programs in management, finance, accounting, marketing and fashion merchandising, while our School of Professional Studies prepares students for careers in interior design, health services, criminal justice and paralegal training. The School of Liberal Arts offers courses in humanities, mathematics/science, social sciences, English, and foreign languages.
In addition to their academic excellence — more than 54 percent of our faculty members hold doctorates in their chosen fields — professors at Berkeley College bring a rich array of "real world" experience to the classroom. Many have held positions of influence in the corporate world, and because we keep our classes small, our students are able to benefit from that experience on a one to one level.
At Berkeley College, we believe that theory and practice are essential components of a 21st century education. For that reason, our students are required to complete an internship in their chosen field as part of their formal curriculum.
In today's economy, we know that financing a college education is always a consideration. At Berkeley College, we offer more than $31 million in grant and scholarship opportunities. Berkeley College also offers students a tuition freeze, based on continuous, full-time enrollment, that ensures that the cost of study will not rise during their enrollment.
We are proud of our diverse population of more than 8,000 students, who reflect the wider diversity of our nation and its neighbors around the globe. We are also pleased to be the choice of many international students, representing over 100 countries, who have chosen Berkeley to complete their degrees.
We invite you to consider the many advantages of a Berkeley College education, and we look forward to working with you as you explore your career goals and set your personal course for success.
Cordially,
Dario A. Cortes, PhD
President
