ACE (American Council on Education): Provides the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services, which has been the standard reference work for recognizing learning acquired in the military.
DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support): Offers credentialing programs, academic examination programs, credit by exam programs, scholarships and counseling.
PONSI (Program On Non-Collegiate Sponsored Instruction): Reviews formal courses and educational programs sponsored by noncollegiate organizations, makes appropriate college-level credit recommendations for the courses and programs evaluated, and promotes academic recognition of these learning experiences to the nation's colleges and universities.

GI Bill Benefits*
Berkeley is proud to support the GI Bill.

Admissions associates trained in GI Bill benefits and regulations
Up to 36 months of assistance payable
Berkeley College participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program: 100% coverage of undergraduate tuition and fees not covered by federal and state grants for eligible students.
Monthly housing allowance equal to basic allowance for housing payable to a military E-5 with dependents, in the same zip code as the school.
Stipend of up to $1,000 per year for books and supplies
A one-time payment of $500 paid to certain individuals relocating from highly rural areas.
As a member of the Armed Forces on August 1, 2009, you may have the opportunity to transfer benefits to your spouse or dependent children. (Rules will be forthcoming.)

Veterans Affairs Work-Study Program

Eligibility
A Berkeley College student veteran enrolled full-time or 3/4-time in a college degree program who is receiving educational benefits; you can "earn while you learn" with a VA work-study allowance.

Job Description

Assists with VA benefits. Facilitates the initial start-up process and distributes forms that a student must have to obtain benefits. Collects any additional material the student submits. Answers questions concerning any additional benefits that the student may receive.
Assists with VA policies and procedures. Informs students of any VA websites, important phone numbers, publications, etc.
Refers the students to different departments depending upon the question. If a student has questions or concerns pertaining to advisement or needs counseling, then the peer mentor can refer the student accordingly.
Works with VA student's folders for filing and intake of any VA forms.
Works with VA students concerning campus polices and procedures. (For example locations of buildings, questions concerning courses, registration, advisement, etc.).
Assists in answering phone calls regarding VA questions.
