Coach Tomlinson recently served as the JV Assistant Coach for the preeminent Christ the King Regional High School program with Coach Artie Cox and helped lead them to a perfect 27-0 season and a City Championship. As part of his duties at Christ the King, Coach Tomlinson was responsible for study hall and administrative duties for the Royals. He has also coached amateur basketball with Team Odom, an organization whose main focus is to give back to the community.
As a player, Sharod played two seasons (2001-2003) at Division II Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota for Coach Jim Datka before returning to the metropolitan area to play for John Jay College. While at John Jay, Sharod led the Bulldogs to two playoff appearances as the team captain under Coach Mike Brown’s leadership.
Summer 2010 Coach Sharod Tomlinson led the New York City women’s open team to the gold medal at the Empire State Games. The games are an Olympics-inspired competition between players from six areas of New York State. It was the New York City team’s first gold medal victory since 1991.
Coach Tomlinson earned his Master's degree at New School University majoring in Non-Profit Management and Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan. Coach Tomlinson joined Berkeley College in January 2008 and currently serves as the Director of Student Development & Campus Life at the White Plains locations.
